Toronto, ON – April 24, 2019 – The UC Davis Health bariatric surgery program in Sacramento, Calif., has implemented SeamlessMD, an all-in-one app for patient engagement, remote monitoring, and virtual care.

The leading bariatric surgery program, accredited bythe Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and QualityImprovement Program, will use the app to complement the patient experiencebefore and after surgery. The app will be offered as an additional avenue, beyond clinic appointments and telephone follow up, to help ensure patients’goals for weight-loss surgery are achieved and maintained.

Statistically, patients who engage with SeamlessMD are better optimized for surgery, more prepared for what to expect after surgery, have shorter stays in-hospital and feel more connected to the care team while at home. SeamlessMD enables providers to remind patients of care protocols such as appointments and to-do’s, individualize care with interactive education, and capture patient-reported outcomes (PROs) for quality improvement.

“The bariatric surgery team at UC Davis Health is incredibly innovative, especially when it comes to the quality of the patient experience. Our team is excited to work with such a progressive and forward-thinking program,” says Joshua Liu, MD, CEO of SeamlessMD.
