Every year HIMSS releases their annual leadership survey that reflects the experiences and opinions of information technology (IT) professionals in U.S healthcare provider organizations regarding the use of IT within their organization. This years study covers a wide array of topics crucial to healthcare IT leadership including IT priorities, issues driving and challenging technology adoption, impact on patient engagement, and the level of support that IT has from the Executive team and Board of Directors.
Summary of Results from the HIMSS Report:
The results showed that nearly three-quarters (72 percent) of the 330 respondents to the 26th Annual HIMSS Leadership Survey indicated that patient engagement, satisfaction and quality of care would be the business issues that would most impact their organization over the course of the next two years – with patient satisfaction being the top priority for 87 percent of the respondents in the course of the next 12 months.
